If you want to experience an exotic luau without the pricey ticket to Hawaii, the folks at the Applegate River Ranch House are hosting an authenic Hawaiian luau lunch and dinner show. See traditional hula and fire dancing, hear instrumental and vocal music, watch a comedy act, and feast at luau meal that will make you think you're in the tropics. Four shows to choose from this Friday and Saturday.
Don't miss the 10th Annual D.A.R.E. Car Show and Cruise happening Saturday. The Drug Abuse Resistance Education team aka "DARE of Southern Oregon" displays cool cars for a show and shine at Crater High School. Enjoy live music and food, take part in the raffle and auction. Watch the cruise from 6-9 on Saturday night, right down Pine Street.
This is the last weekend to go to Britt. Friday night check out G. Love and Special Sauce along with the John Butler Trio. Expect a laid pack hip -hop sound mix with a soulful blues feel. Saturday night is Bill Evans Soulgrass. Bill mixes his unconventional style with the new bluegrass sound of mandolinist Sam Bush. Together they combine jazz, fusion, reggae and rock. The closing act for the Britt Festivals this summer is the Black Crowes. Known for music that is a hot mix of rock-n-roll, funkadelic soul, blues and gospel, this end of summer concert will keep you warm all winter long.
While this is Britt's last weekend, this is also my last week reporting for "On the Town." I am temporarily moving to Alaska until next April. But News10's Lindsey Matherly will be right here next week giving you all the details of what's happening On the Town.
